However, not all experts concur. Nick James of the British Astronomical Association remains skeptical of the fragmentation claims. In a Spaceweather.com interview, he remarked, “This doesn’t look like a comet that is fragmenting to me.”

He cautioned against declaring breakup as inevitable, stressing the importance of ongoing, careful observation to clarify the comet’s status. This differing viewpoint underscores the complex and unpredictable nature of comet behavior as they journey through our solar system.
